Peter A. Bamberger (Ph.D., Cornell University) is Professor of Organizational Behavior and Associate Dean for Research at the Recanati Business School, Tel Aviv University, and Director of Research of the Smithers Institute at Cornell University's ILR School. Peter has held visiting positions at the ENPC and ESCP in France, the PolyU in Hong Kong, and at Peking and Tongji Universities in China. Associate editor of the Academy of Management Journal from 2007 to 2010, he was a founding associate editor of the Academy of Management Discoveries, and serves on the board of several other leading management journals. A Fellow of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, Peter has been an active member of the Academy for over 25 years. Current research interests include peer relations and employee helping processes, occupational health psychology, and compensation strategy. Peter has taken a particular interest in promoting work-site research to the National Institutes of Health and has secured over $5 million in research support from NIAAA and NIDA over the past 20 years. Co-author of Mutual Aid and Union Renewal (Cornell Univ. Press, 2001), Human Resource Strategy (Sage, 2000; Routledge, 2014), and Retirement & the Hidden Epidemic: The Complex Link Between Aging, Work Disengagement and Substance Misuse…and What to Do About It (Oxford Univ. Press, 2014), Peter has published over 90 referred articles in such journals as Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Journal of Applied Psychology, OBHDP and Administrative Science Quarterly.
