Belle Rose Ragins, Editor

 
 ragins.gif Belle Rose Ragins is a Professor of Management at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Her research interests focus on mentoring, diversity and positive relationships at work. Her work appears in the Academy of Management Review, Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Applied Psychology, Personnel Psychology and Psychological Bulletin. She is co-author of Mentoring and Diversity: An International Perspective, and co-editor of The Handbook of Mentoring at Work and Exploring Positive Relationships at Work. She has over twenty years of experience serving on leading editorial boards, including the Academy of Management Review, Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Applied Psychology, Personnel Psychology, and the Journal of Vocational Behavior. Belle received three best reviewer awards from AMR and subsequently served as Associate Editor for the journal.  She has also received a number of national awards for her research, including the Sage Life-Time Achievement Award for Scholarly Contributions to Management, the Academy of Management Mentoring Legacy Award, the ASTD Research Award, the Saroj Parasuraman Best Publication Award, and eight other Best Paper Awards from the National Academy of Management.  Belle is an invited member of the Society for Organizational Behavior, a Fulbright Senior Specialist Scholar, and a Fellow of the Society for Industrial-Organizational Psychology (SIOP), the American Psychological Society (APS), the Society for the Psychology of Women (SPW), and the American Psychological Association (APA). Her joys include morning runs along Lake Michigan with her adopted dogs, Bo and Gabe, and exploring the American wilderness with her husband Erik.

Gary Ballinger, Associate Editor

 
Ballinger Gary A. Ballinger is an Associate Professor of Commerce at The University of Virginia's McIntire School of Commerce. In his research, he focuses on the roles autobiographical memory and emotions play in the operation of social exchange relationships in the work context. He also conducts research on leadership succession, corporate governance, social networks, and employee turnover. He has published in Academy of Management Review, Leadership Quarterly, Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Management, Personnel Psychology, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, and Strategic Management Journal. He has been or is currently a member of the editorial review boards of Academy of Management Review, Journal of Organizational Behavior, and Organization Science and has reviewed for a number of other journals in organizational behavior and strategic management. He is a member of the Managerial and Organizational Cognition, Organizational Behavior, and Research Methods divisions of the Academy of Management. From 2011-2013 he won awards for outstanding reviewing from Academy of Management Review. Professor Ballinger has taught courses in leadership, organizational behavior, and human resources management at the undergraduate, graduate and executive levels in the United States and Germany. In 2013 he won an All-University Teaching Award from The University of Virginia. He earned his Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior and Human Resources Management from Purdue University's Krannert Graduate School of Management in 2004.

Jean Bartunek, Associate Editor

 
 Jean Bartunek Jean is the Robert A. and Evelyn J. Ferris Chair and Professor of Management and Organization at Boston College, where she has taught since 1977. She is a past president and fellow of the Academy of Management. In 2009 she won the Academy of Management's Career Distinguished Service Award. From 2008 – 2010 she was a visiting international fellow of the Advanced Institute for Management Research in the UK.

Jean has published over 100 journal articles and book chapters, as well as five books. Her papers have appeared in a number of prestigious outlets, including, among others, the Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Academy of Management Learning and Education, Administrative Science Quarterly, the Journal of Applied Behavioral Science, the Journal of Management, the Journal of Management Studies, Organization Science, and Organization Studies. Her primary research interests focus around organizational change, considered broadly, and academic-practitioner relationships.

She was previously a co-editor for the non-traditional research section of the Journal of Management Inquiry (1994-1997) an associate editor of Advances in Qualitative Organizational Research (1998 – 2004), and is an associate editor of the Journal of Applied Behavioral Science. She has also co-edited special research forums in the Academy of Management Journal and Academy of Management Review. She serves on the editorial board of several journals.

Kris Byron, Associate Editor

 
 Byron Kris Byron (PhD, Georgia State University) is associate professor of managerial sciences at Georgia State University's Robinson College of Business. Her research is focused on predicting different dimensions of job performance including routine and creative performance. In particular, her research looks at the interplay between individual differences such as regulatory focus and dominance, perceptual, emotional and self-regulatory processes, and job factors and external events. Her research spans a range of research methodologies and designs including meta-analysis, field surveys, lab experiments, grounded theory, and theory development. She has published in management and psychology journals such as the Academy of Management Review, Psychological Bulletin, Journal of Applied Psychology, and the Academy of Management Journal. She is active in the Research Methods Division of the Academy of Management, and has won several reviewer awards from the Academy of Management Review and the Journal of Organizational Behavior.

Joep Cornelissen, Associate Editor

 
 Cornelissen

Joep Cornelissen is Professor of Corporate Communication and Management at the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University. The main focus of his research is the role of communication and sensemaking in processes of innovation, entrepreneurship and change, but he also has an interest in questions of reasoning and theory development in organization theory. His papers have been published in Academy of Management Review, Journal of Management Studies, Organization Science and Organization Studies, and he has written a general text on corporate communication (Corporate Communication: A Guide to Theory and Practice, Sage Publications) which is now in its fourth edition. He is a Council member of the Society for the Advancement of Management Studies, a former General Editor of the Journal of Management Studies (2006-2012) and serves on the editorial boards of the Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Management, Journal of Management Studies and Organization Studies

Russell E. Johnson, Associate Editor

 
 RJohnson Russ Johnson is an Associate Professor of Management in the Eli Broad College of Business at Michigan State University. Previously, he was a member of the psychology faculty at the University of South Florida. He received his Ph.D. in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from the University of Akron. His research examines the motivation-, justice-, and leadership-based processes that underlie organizational behavior. His research has been published in Academy of Management Review, Journal of Applied Psychology, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, Personnel Psychology, Psychological Bulletin, and Research in Organizational Behavior, and it has been cited in media outlets such as Forbes, The Globe and Mail, Huffington Post, Psychology Today, TIME, and The Wall Street Journal. He has served on several editorial boards, including Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Organizational Behavior, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, and Personnel Psychology, and has won outstanding reviewer awards from Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, and The Leadership Quarterly. In 2013, Russ received the Distinguished Early Career Contributions Award for Science from the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology. Originally from Canada, he still dreams of one day playing for the Calgary Flames in the National Hockey League. 

Donald Lange, Associate Editor

 
 Lange Donald Lange is an Associate Professor of Management and the Lincoln Professor of Management Ethics at the W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University. Don’s current research interests include individual- and situational-level drivers of good and bad behavior in organizations, the antecedents and outcomes of reputation and legitimacy (primarily but not exclusively) at the organization level, and the meaning and construction of perceptions of corporate social (ir)responsibility. His work has appeared in Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Journal of Management, Organization Science, Personnel Psychology, and Strategic Management Journal. He received his PhD in Management from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin.

Mike Pfarrer, Associate Editor

 
  Pfarrer Mike Pfarrer is an Associate Professor in the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia. His research focuses on social perceptions of the firm and how the firm manages these perceptions to create value. His specific interests include impression and crisis management, organizational celebrity, legitimacy, reputation, and stigma; and the role of the media in firm-stakeholder discourse. His research has been published in the Academy of Management Review, Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Management Studies, Organization Science, and Organizational Research Methods. He is a research fellow at the Oxford University Centre for Corporate Reputation and maintains a website dedicated to content analysis research and methodology. He received his Ph.D. in Management from the University of Maryland.

Sherry M.B. Thatcher, Associate Editor

 
 Thatcher Sherry M.B. Thatcher is a Professor of Business Administration and a Moore Business Partnership Foundation Fellow in the Management Department of the Darla Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina. Her research revolves around teams and includes the study of intragroup conflict as it relates to diversity, faultlines, identity, and the effects of computer-mediated communication. She has authored numerous scholarly publications in these areas, including articles in the Academy of Management Review, Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Applied Psychology, Organization Science, Journal of Management, and Decision Support Systems. Her Academy of Management Journal paper on conflict asymmetry (along with co-authors Karen Jehn and Sonja Rispens) was awarded best paper of the year in 2011 from the International Association of Conflict Management. Her research has been funded by both private and public organizations, including the National Science Foundation. She currently serves or has served on the editorial boards of Academy of Management Review, Journal of Management, and Small Group Research.

Hugh Willmott, Associate Editor

 
 Wilmot Hugh Willmott (PhD Manchester University) is Professor of Management at Cass Business School, City University London and Research Professor in Organization Studies in Cardiff Business School. He previously held professorial appointments at UMIST (now Manchester Business School) and the Judge Business School, Cambridge and visiting appointments at the Universities of Lund, Uppsala, Innsbruck and University of Technology Sydney. He has researched diverse aspects of organizations including managerial work, culture, control, corporate governance, management education, ethics, regulation and alternative organizations. He co-founded the International Labor Process Conference and the International Critical Management Studies Conference. He has served as Associate Editor on Organization and on the boards of Administrative Science Quarterly, Academy of Management Review, Accounting, Organizations and Society, Organization Studies and Journal of Management Studies. He has published in leading social science and management journals and has published over 20 books, including co-editing the Oxford Handbook of Critical Management Studies and co-authoring the international edition of Organization Theory and Design.  He has served as a member of the UK Business and Management Panel for the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise and for the Panel for the UK Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2014.
