Ben Arbaugh has been a member of the faculty of the College of Business of the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh since 1994. Some of his recent and forthcoming publications include articles in Academy of Management Learning & Education, Management Learning, Decision Sciences Journal of Innovative Education, Journal of Management Education, The Internet and Higher Education, Journal of Asynchronous Learning Networks, Decision Support Systems, Information & Management, and the Journal of Management, Spirituality, and Religion.

Ben’s current research focus is on the development and testing of conceptual frameworks of online management education effectiveness. His research in online learning has been awarded Academy of Management Division Best Paper Awards in 2001, 2002, 2003, 2007, and 2009, and has won best article awards in the Journal of Management Education and the Decision Sciences Journal of Innovative Education. Ben has been an MED Division Chair and is an editorial board member for several journals, including the Journal of Management Education, Management Learning, the International Journal of Management Reviews, the Journal of Management, Spirituality, and Religion, and the Decision Sciences Journal of Innovative Education. Ben was awarded GMAC's Management Education Research Institute's 2009 Faculty Fellowship to further examine disciplinary influences and faculty effects on online graduate management education. His other research interests are graduate management education, the intersection between strategy and project management, and the intersection between spirituality and strategic management research.


Ben’s present teaching activities are focused on graduate-level courses in project management, professional development, and strategic management, both in classroom and online learning environments. In 2008 he won the UW Oshkosh College of Business Outstanding Graduate Faculty Award. He has provided his expertise in online learning for a number of activities within the UW System, such as teaching in the UW Online MBA Consortium, developing Shareable Content Objects as part of a UW System FIPSE grant, and evaluating the Accelerated Online BSN program for UW-Oshkosh’s College of Nursing.


He has a Ph.D. from Ohio State University, an MBA from Wright State University, and a BBA from Marshall University.
